AVR GmbH is concerned almost exclusively with the collection and treatment of waste.

Our operation consists mainly of a CP facility, in which industrial waste water is chemically-physically treated, and an intermediate store for waste bound for landfill sites.

Our CP facility is specially designed for the treatment of polluted waste water. Contaminants such as acids and acid mixtures, concentrates containing metal salts, emulsions and oil-water mixes are split, separated and neutralised.

The waste water can be roughly subdivided into the following groups according to its contamination:


> Oil-water mixtures
> Oil separator contents
> Emulsions
> Spray booth waste
> Solvent-water mixtures
> Plastic emulsions
> Glue washing water
> Fat separator contents
> Sand trap contents


> Acids
> Lyes
> Concentrates containing metal salts
> Washing water from the surface treatment process
> Waste water containing chromium (VI)
> Waste water containing nitrites
> Various kinds of washing and process water

In addition to a suitably large tank store and various separation options into liquid and solid phases, the following treatment stages are available for these materials:

> Emulsion splitting
> Oxidation stage
> Reduction stage
> Neutralisation
> Precipitation stage
> Chamber filter press
> Settling pond

The purpose of this is to separate and concentrate the pollutants contained in liquid waste. The pollutants are subsequently sent to thermal recycling plants or, once they have been rendered inert, to landfill sites. The cleaned waste water meets the Austrian waste water emissions ordinance for waste treatment plants and can therefore be discharged into the public sewer network.

The fundamental difference between our CP facility and comparable facilities is that we substitute the necessary new chemicals for the treatment with waste. Materials generated by our customers for disposal are therefore put to good use in our facility for the treatment of other waste. This results not only in cost savings for our customers, but also in a considerable reduction in the consumption of new chemicals, while minimising the amounts of sludge produced. This is how we make a contribution to protecting valuable raw materials and scarce landfill resources!


Our waste handling facility has a wide range of approved waste disposal codes for the collection and handling of solid and liquid industrial waste.

Before each initial delivery of waste, the customer sends a sample to our laboratory. The waste is fully analysed to establish whether the material can be treated in one of the facility areas or put into interim storage.

For all subsequent deliveries, an identification analysis will be performed before acceptance to ensure that the material is the same as the material presented for the initial analysis and can therefore be brought into the facility.

The waste is only unloaded once the results of the incoming analysis are available and have been approved by the chemist.

In accordance with our corporate philosophy, our laboratory is a central hub of the facility. Its main task is to control and monitor the production process:

> Analytical assessment of initial samples
> Incoming check of waste
> Developement of formulas for the CP facility
> Supported monitoring of how treatment is progressing in the individual facility sections
> Analytical assessment of the waste water produced
> Outgoing check of waste and of any residual materials produced during the treatment

Ascertained data are administered by computer and are therefore available to all authorised areas of the company without delay.

> Piece goods such as canisters, drums, big bags or IBC containers up to a capacity of 1000 litres
> Tankers
> Vacuum tankers
> Wheeled containers
> Skips

Rail transport:

> Piece goods such as canisters, drums, big bags or IBC containers up to a capacity of 1000 litres
> ACTS containers
> Tank wagon up to 65t payload

To ensure our high quality standards in waste treatment, we adhere to the following procedure when accepting material:

1. Initial sampling – overall visual and chemical assessment of the waste
2. Allocation of the treatment procedure
3. Offer preparation
4. Order placement by the customer
5. Material delivery/collection
6. Identification analysis upon receipt of material and comparison with the initial sample
7. Acceptance of the waste by a chemist
8. Confirmation of waste acceptance on the AVR delivery note or, for hazardous waste, by countersigning the waste manifest
9. Invoicing - for hazardous waste, sheet 3 of the waste manifest is also sent to the customer

Since 2010, we have operated the first tank cleaning system for tanker wagons and tanker vehicles in Vienna at our location. The synergy of these business sectors gives our customers the benefit of having their delivery vehicles professionally cleaned without the need for additional time on the road.

Small containers such as canisters, drums, big bags and IBCs up to a capacity of 1000 litres can be cleaned by our acceptance team.
